In 2014, Imagine That began with a simple objective: to offer quality, affordable performing arts for the young people of Airdrie. Today, we have evolved into a multi-award-winning institution and an Accredited Private Centre for Qualifications Scotland.
We bridge the gap between "drama clubs" and professional performing arts education. Operating from our beautiful listed building in the heart of the community, we offer a curriculum designed for everyone—whether you are looking for a confidence-boosting hobby or a professional career in the arts.

We strongly believe that youth theatre should never be "bad" theatre. Our students work with qualified, industry-experienced tutors and experts from across the UK to reach their full potential. To us, theatre is a practical craft, which is why we produce an average of six full-scale productions every year across our different departments.
While many schools offer just one annual showcase, our diverse calendar ensures there is a platform for every age and stage. This high volume of work provides unparalleled opportunities to perform when a student feels ready—building "stage stamina" and confidence at a pace that suits them, from large-scale musicals to technical contemporary dramas.
Nationally Recognised Qualifications
As an Accredited Private Centre for Qualifications Scotland, we bridge the gap between "drama clubs" and professional education. We offer National Progression Awards (NPAs) at SCQF Level 6—industry-specific qualifications equivalent to a Scottish Higher. These provide our students with the vital UCAS points and portfolio evidence needed to succeed in higher education and beyond.
